Apideck Unified API

Accounting, billing & payments

Keep Apideck Unified API in step with your orders, invoices and payments without re-keying, with the right person approving what changes.

Apideck Unified API with Nexra

Connected, approved, proven.

The things teams do most with Apideck Unified API, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.

Top actions

  • Create applicantats_applicants.createApproval by rule
  • Create applicationats_applications.createApproval by rule
  • List applicantsats_applicants.listRead

Example flow

  1. Apideck Unified API · List applicantsats_applicants.listDone
  2. Apideck Unified API · Create applicantats_applicants.createMaker-checker
  3. Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven

Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Apideck Unified API.

What gets logged

  • Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
  • A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Apideck Unified API
  • Apideck Unified API's reply: what it created or changed
  • One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before

Try this in the sandbox

Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect a Apideck test account before you go live.

Access and limits

Authentication
Apideck API key with the application ID and consumer ID
Plans and access
An Apideck Unify plan with the unified APIs you use (Accounting, CRM, HRIS, ATS, File Storage, Issue Tracking or Ecommerce) enabled for the application. Each connection serves one consumer. Each operation needs an authorized Vault connection for its unified API; field support varies per downstream connector (see Apideck connector coverage).
Test environment
Apideck offers test consumers and sandbox accounting connectors with the same API key.
Rate limits
Apideck throttles per application and consumer and passes through downstream connector limits as HTTP 429 with Retry-After.
Pagination
Cursor pagination with limit up to 200; the next cursor is returned in meta.cursors.next.
Provider events
Apideck unified webhooks (for example accounting.invoice.created and accounting.customer.updated), native or virtual per connector. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.

Before you build a flow

  • Field and filter support varies per connector; Apideck returns unsupported-field warnings or 4xx errors for operations a connector lacks.
  • Accounting operations have no prefix; CRM, HRIS, ATS, file storage, issue tracking and ecommerce operations start with crm_, hris_, ats_, file_storage_, issue_tracking_ and ecommerce_. Each API uses its own service ID setting; the accounting service ID and company ID are never sent to other APIs.
  • pass_through fields and raw=true responses (raw access to the downstream API) are intentionally excluded: they bypass Nexra's operation-level schemas, write gating and safety rules.
  • Deletes, payrolls, CRM custom objects and schemas, CRM user creation, CRM lists, pipeline writes, job writes, file upload, download and export, upload sessions, shared links, folder copy, drive writes and all Vault writes (consumers, connections, custom mappings, sessions) are excluded.
  • HRIS: compensation, jobs (pay rates), bank accounts, tax IDs, social security numbers, birthdays, gender, ethnicity, marital status, nationality, home addresses, personal emails and phones are never read or written. Payrolls are excluded. Employee writes never change employment status or end dates.
  • ATS: birthdays, gender, social security numbers, cover letters and job salaries are not mapped; application status (reject or hire) is not written; jobs are read only.
  • Time-off requests are always submitted as requested and cannot be updated, so approvals stay in the HR system.
  • CRM activities are limited to call, meeting, note, task, deadline and other, without attendees, so no invitations or messages are sent.
  • Issue tracking comments have no internal-only flag in the unified model; they are visible on the ticket and may notify watchers.
  • Ecommerce is read only (orders, products, customers, store); Apideck's ecommerce API has no writes.
  • Incremental reads exist only where Apideck documents an updated_since (or since) filter: CRM companies, contacts, notes and activities, HRIS time-off requests, issue tracking tickets and ecommerce orders, products and customers. Other lists are read in full.
  • Name, email and phone filters are not offered for people records, so personal data never appears in request URLs.
  • The connection test lists Vault connections (connections.list) instead of reading accounting company info, so consumers without an accounting connection can be tested.
  • Payments, bill payments, credit notes, expenses, general ledger transactions, bank accounts and quotes are read only; Nexra never records payments, refunds or credits.
  • Accounting deletes, batch endpoints, attachments upload and bank feed statements are not automated.
  • Bank transactions: Apideck's unified accounting API has no bank transaction read (bank feed statements are statements pushed into the accounting system, not read from it), so bank reconciliation reads use general ledger transactions instead.
  • Writes return only the new record ID; read the record back for the full result.
  • Apideck has no idempotency key for unified writes; uncertain creates are not repeated automatically.
  • Tax rates, tracking categories, departments, locations, subsidiaries and bank accounts have no updated_since filter, so they are always read in full.

Developer reference

  1. Create the Apideck credentials described above with the narrowest permissions your flows need.
  2. In Nexra, open Connect, then Connections, then New connection, choose Apideck Unified API, enter its settings and credentials, and tick only the write actions you need. Connection guide
  3. Test the connection, then use its actions as flow sources and destinations. Flow guide
