Apollo.io with Nexra

Connected, approved, proven.

The things teams do most with Apollo.io, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.

Top actions

  • Create accountaccounts.createApproval by rule
  • Log call recordcalls.createApproval by rule
  • List account stagesaccount_stages.listRead

Example flow

  1. Apollo.io · List account stagesaccount_stages.listDone
  2. Apollo.io · Create accountaccounts.createMaker-checker
  3. Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven

Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Apollo.io.

What gets logged

  • Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
  • A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Apollo.io
  • Apollo.io's reply: what it created or changed
  • One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before

Try this in the sandbox

Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits

Authentication
Apollo API key (x-api-key header)
Plans and access
API access depends on the Apollo plan; enrichment and database search consume plan credits. Some endpoints (people search, users, sequences, calls, email stats) need a master API key. API-key requests act as the workspace's longest-standing admin.
Test environment
A free Apollo account can be used to test non-credit endpoints.
Rate limits
Per-endpoint minute, hour and day limits by plan (for example 50/200/600 on free plans); HTTP 429 when exceeded. usage_stats.get reports the remaining allowance per endpoint.
Pagination
page/per_page with pagination.total_pages; notes use skip/limit; outreach email search pages until a short page.
Provider events
Apollo does not offer general record-change webhooks for this API. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.

Before you build a flow

  • people.generate, organizations.generate, organizations.search, organizations.get, people.get, job_postings.list, news_articles.search and conversations.get consume Apollo credits; they are billable and never retried automatically.
  • Contact, account, call and outreach email searches return at most 50,000 records (100 per page, 500 pages).
  • Adding contacts to a sequence enrols one contact per operation; Apollo then sends sequence emails on its own schedule. Nexra creates sequences inactive and never activates them.
  • Contact and record creation have no idempotency key except contacts.upsert and accounts.upsert, which use Apollo's run_dedupe matching.
  • accounts.upsert returns an existing matching account without changing it; use accounts.update to change it.
  • Apollo has no last-modified filter on contact or account search; sort by updated date instead. Notes can be filtered by creation date only.
  • Email drafts are created unsent; Nexra does not offer Apollo's send-now endpoint.
  • fields.update replaces the full picklist when picklist values are sent; send every option you want to keep.
