ClickUp with Nexra

Connected, approved, proven.

The things teams do most with ClickUp, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.

Top actions

  • Add checklist itemchecklist_items.createApproval by rule
  • Create checklistchecklists.createApproval by rule
  • List comment repliescomment_replies.listRead

Example flow

  1. ClickUp · List comment repliescomment_replies.listDone
  2. ClickUp · Add checklist itemchecklist_items.createMaker-checker
  3. Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven

Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches ClickUp.

What gets logged

  • Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
  • A fingerprint of the exact request sent to ClickUp
  • ClickUp's reply: what it created or changed
  • One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before

Try this in the sandbox

Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits

Authentication
Personal API token
Plans and access
All plans; time tracking, goals and some custom fields depend on plan. Personal tokens act as the user who generated them.
Test environment
Use a free ClickUp workspace for testing.
Rate limits
100 requests per minute per token on Free Forever to Business; higher on Enterprise. HTTP 429.
Pagination
Zero-based page numbers with 100 tasks per page and a last_page flag; Docs use next_cursor.
Provider events
Workspace webhooks with X-Signature HMAC-SHA256. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.

Before you build a flow

  • Task comments return the latest page provided by ClickUp; older comments are not paginated.
  • Task creation has no idempotency key; uncertain creates are not repeated automatically.
  • Task search takes one value per filter (one status, assignee, list, space or tag) because Nexra sends single-valued query parameters.
  • Docs are read-only (ClickUp Docs API v3); page editing is not implemented.
  • Task file attachments need multipart uploads, which the recipe runtime does not send; attachments are not implemented.
  • Intentionally excluded: deleting spaces, folders, lists, tasks, comments, checklists, time entries, goals, key results, tags and views; merging tasks; starting or stopping timers; inviting or removing users and guests; webhooks.
