Databricks
Bring your business data together in Databricks, and act on it in the apps your team already uses.
30 ways to read, 5 ways to write, each write switched on by you.
Quality checks
Built and tested with example responses.
- Ready to connect: doneEvery listed action is built in.
- Built and tested with example responses: doneEach action is built from the provider’s published API and tested against example responses, errors, rate limits and paging.
Connected, approved, proven.
The things teams do most with Databricks, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.
Top actions
- Run job now
job_runs.createApproval by rule - Create Git folder
repos.createApproval by rule - List catalogs
catalogs.listRead
Example flow
- Databricks · List catalogs
catalogs.listDone - Databricks · Run job now
job_runs.createMaker-checker - Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven
Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Databricks.
What gets logged
- Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
- A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Databricks
- Databricks's reply: what it created or changed
- One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before
Try this in the sandbox
Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

What you can map
Reads are always available. Writes are off until you switch them on for a connection, and governed writes follow your policies.
catalogs2
- Get catalogSource
Reads one Unity Catalog catalog.
- List catalogsSource
Lists Unity Catalog catalogs visible to the principal.
clusters2
- Get clusterSource
Reads one cluster's configuration and state.
- List clustersSource
Lists all-purpose and job clusters with their state and size.
columns1
- List columnsSource
Lists a table's columns from Unity Catalog.
functions2
- Get functionSource
Reads one Unity Catalog function including parameters and body.
- List functionsSource
Lists Unity Catalog SQL and Python functions in a schema.
grants1
- List grantsSource
Lists privileges granted on a Unity Catalog securable, per principal.
job runs3
- Run job nowDestinationNot retried automaticallyApproval before production
Triggers a run of an existing job with optional job parameters. Databricks guarantees one run per idempotency token.
- Get job runSource
Reads one job run with its state.
- List job runsSourceIncremental
Lists job runs, newest first, optionally for one job and since a start time.
jobs1
- List jobsSource
Lists Lakeflow (Workflows) jobs.
pipeline updates1
- List pipeline updatesSource
Lists a pipeline's update (run) history, newest first.
pipelines2
- Get pipelineSource
Reads a pipeline's settings, state and latest updates.
- List pipelinesSource
Lists Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines (Delta Live Tables) with their latest updates.
repos4
- Create Git folderDestinationProvider duplicate protectionApproval before production
Clones a remote Git repository into a workspace Git folder.
- Get Git folderSource
Reads a Git folder's remote, branch and head commit.
- List Git foldersSource
Lists Git folders (repos) the principal can manage.
- Check out branch or tagDestinationProvider duplicate protectionApproval before production
Checks out a branch or tag in a Git folder and pulls its latest commit (local changes block the update).
rows3
- Insert rowDestinationNot retried automaticallyApproval before production
INSERTs one row into a table with named parameters.
- Search table rowsSourceIncremental
Runs a generated, parameterised SELECT (validated columns, filters, updated-since and LIMIT) on the SQL warehouse.
- Upsert rowDestinationNot retried automaticallyApproval before production
MERGEs one row into a Delta table by key columns with named parameters.
schemas1
- List schemasSource
Lists schemas in a catalog.
secret scopes1
- List secret scopesSource
Lists secret scope names and backends. Secret values are never read.
serving endpoints2
- Get serving endpointSource
Reads one Model Serving endpoint's configuration and state.
- List serving endpointsSource
Lists Model Serving endpoints with their state and served entities.
statements1
- Get statement resultSource
Reads a statement's status and first chunk, or a later result chunk.
tables2
- Get tableSource
Reads a table's metadata and columns.
- List tablesSource
Lists tables and views in a schema.
volumes2
- Get volumeSource
Reads one Unity Catalog volume.
- List volumesSource
Lists Unity Catalog volumes in a schema.
warehouses2
- Get SQL warehouseSource
Reads one SQL warehouse.
- List SQL warehousesSource
Lists SQL warehouses with their state, size and scaling.
workspace objects2
- Get workspace objectSource
Reads the status (type, language, size, timestamps) of one workspace path.
- List workspace objectsSourceIncremental
Lists notebooks, files, folders, Git folders and dashboards in a workspace folder.
Access and limits
- Authentication
- Personal access token or OAuth M2M service principal
- Plans and access
- Databricks Premium or Enterprise with Unity Catalog and a SQL warehouse. The token's user or service principal needs CAN USE on the SQL warehouse, Unity Catalog privileges on the tables and CAN MANAGE RUN on triggered jobs.
- Test environment
- Databricks offers a 14-day trial and the Free Edition.
- Rate limits
- Workspace API rate limits apply per endpoint (HTTP 429 with Retry-After); statement execution concurrency follows the warehouse size.
- Pagination
- page_token for Unity Catalog, clusters, warehouses, pipelines, Git folders and Jobs; generated LIMIT/OFFSET for row searches.
- Provider events
- Job notification webhooks (configured per job). Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.
Before you build a flow
- Free-form SQL is not accepted; only generated SELECT, MERGE and INSERT statements with named parameters run.
- Searches, writes and job runs consume billable compute (DBUs) and are not retried automatically.
- Statements wait up to 45 seconds and are cancelled after that; results above 25 MiB (INLINE) are not returned.
- Job creation, editing, cancellation and deletion are not implemented.
- Compute is read-only: starting, stopping, restarting, resizing, creating or editing clusters, SQL warehouses and pipelines (and pipeline updates or refreshes) are intentionally excluded because they change DBU spend.
- Secret scopes are listed by name and backend only; secret keys and values are never read.
- Unity Catalog grants, volumes and functions are read-only; granting, revoking, creating and deleting are excluded. Serving endpoints are read-only and are not queried.
- Workspace object listing returns one folder level per call; notebook export is not implemented.
Developer reference
- Create the Databricks credentials described above with the narrowest permissions your flows need.
- In Nexra, open Connect, then Connections, then New connection, choose Databricks, enter its settings and credentials, and tick only the write actions you need. Connection guide
- Test the connection, then use its actions as flow sources and destinations. Flow guide
