Example flow
- Etsy · List buyer taxonomy propertiesDone
- Etsy · Create draft listingNeeds approval
- Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven
Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Etsy.
What gets logged
- Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
- A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Etsy
- Etsy's reply: what it created or changed
- One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before
Try this in the sandbox
Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits
- Authentication
- OAuth 2.0 (PKCE) refresh token plus x-api-key
- Plans and access
- Any Etsy seller with an approved Open API v3 app (personal access is enough for your own shop). Scopes: shops_r, shops_w, listings_r, listings_w, transactions_r, transactions_w, address_r, and email_r for buyer email.
- Test environment
- Etsy has no sandbox; test against a shop with draft listings.
- Rate limits
- Per API key: queries per second and a rolling 24-hour quota (commonly 10 QPS and 10,000 per day). x-limit-per-second, x-remaining-this-second, x-limit-per-day and x-remaining-today headers; HTTP 429 with retry-after.
- Pagination
- limit (max 100) and offset with count. Sections, images, videos, properties, return policies, shipping profiles and taxonomy return one complete page.
- Provider events
- Order paid and other shop webhooks (beta). Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.
Before you build a flow
- Etsy rotates refresh tokens; a token unused for 90 days expires and the shop must re-authorise.
- Intentionally excluded: listing, image, video, file, section, shipping profile, destination, upgrade, return policy, property and address deletes; refunds and cancellations; receipt status changes (was_paid, was_shipped); return policy consolidation.
- Listing images, videos and digital files are read as metadata only; uploads (multipart) are not implemented.
- Listings with variations must change price and quantity through the inventory update, which replaces all products.
- Etsy documents no idempotency key; draft listing, section, shipping profile and return policy creation and tracking uploads are not repeated automatically when uncertain.
- Form-encoded writes send arrays (tags, materials, property value IDs and values) comma-separated, so individual values cannot contain commas. Etsy also rejects parentheses in property values.
- Shipping profile creation sets the first destination; further destinations and upgrades are read-only here.
- Ledger entries require a created-date window (Etsy needs both min_created and max_created; Nexra uses now when no end is given). Ledger amounts are integers in the currency's minor unit.
- Receipt shipments are read from the receipt; Etsy has no separate shipment list endpoint.
- Taxonomy reads return top-level nodes, or the direct children of a given node, to stay within one page.
- User addresses (address_r) return the authorised user's own saved addresses, not buyer addresses.
