Fiserv · Clover with Nexra

Connected, approved, proven.

The things teams do most with Fiserv · Clover, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.

Top actions

  • Create categorycategories.createApproval by rule
  • Create customercustomers.createApproval by rule
  • List attributesattributes.listRead

Example flow

  1. Fiserv · Clover · List attributesattributes.listDone
  2. Fiserv · Clover · Create categorycategories.createMaker-checker
  3. Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven

Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Fiserv · Clover.

What gets logged

  • Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
  • A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Fiserv · Clover
  • Fiserv · Clover's reply: what it created or changed
  • One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before

Try this in the sandbox

Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect a Fiserv test account before you go live.

Access and limits

Authentication
Clover merchant OAuth/read token
Plans and access
A Clover merchant account and an app (or merchant API token) with the permissions for each area: merchant, inventory, customers, orders, payments and employees. Clover merchant API only; other Fiserv acquiring platforms are not covered. Write permissions are needed for inventory, customer and order writes.
Test environment
Use a Clover developer sandbox merchant at apisandbox.dev.clover.com.
Rate limits
Clover limits requests per token and per app and returns HTTP 429. Nexra honours Retry-After; creates are not repeated automatically.
Pagination
Lists use offset and limit (up to 1000) and stop after a short page.
Provider events
Clover app webhooks notify of changes to orders, payments, inventory, customers and employees. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.

Before you build a flow

  • Intentional exclusions: card charges, payments, pre-authorizations and captures, refunds and credits, voids, terminal commands, customer cards, employee PINs and shifts, and every delete.
  • Clover merchant API only; this does not cover every Fiserv acquiring platform.
  • Customer updates change names, consent and metadata only; email, phone and address entries use separate Clover endpoints not exposed here.
  • Customers have no modified-time filter; refunds cover the most recent 90 days.
  • Payouts and settlements: Clover's merchant REST API has no deposit, funding, batch settlement or payout endpoint, so payouts and the transactions inside each payout cannot be read; Clover shows deposits only in the merchant Dashboard and Fiserv merchant reporting.
  • Fees: Clover's REST API does not report processing fees (interchange or Clover/Fiserv merchant fees) on payments, refunds or any other record. The only fee-like fields are customer charges (service charges, surcharges and convenience fees), which are not processing fees.
  • Disputes: Clover's REST API has no chargeback or dispute endpoint; disputes are handled in the Clover Dashboard dispute portal.
  • Item stock is set as an absolute quantity, not adjusted by a delta.
  • Not added on purpose: creating authorizations, order payments, credits or tenders; changing merchant properties, order types, opening hours, discounts or tax rates (they change what customers are charged); every delete and bulk delete. Merchant bank (ABA, DDA) account numbers, device IMEI, IMSI, SIM and certificates, authorization tokens and auth codes are never mapped.
