Messaging, collaboration & support

Send the right update through Front at the right moment, with a person approving what reaches customers.

44 ways to read, 23 ways to write, each write switched on by you.

Front with Nexra

Connected, approved, proven.

The things teams do most with Front, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.

Top actions

  • Add contacts to accountaccount_contacts.createApproval by rule
  • Create accountaccounts.createApproval by rule
  • List account contactsaccount_contacts.listRead

Example flow

  1. Front · List account contactsaccount_contacts.listDone
  2. Front · Add contacts to accountaccount_contacts.createMaker-checker
  3. Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven

Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Front.

What gets logged

  • Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
  • A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Front
  • Front's reply: what it created or changed
  • One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before

Try this in the sandbox

Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits

Authentication
API token
Plans and access
API tokens are available on Front plans with API access (Growth and above). Company API tokens are scoped to shared or private resources and read or write permissions chosen at creation.
Test environment
Front free trials and developer environments can be used for testing.
Rate limits
Per-company limits by plan (50–200 requests per minute plus burst); search runs at 40% of the limit; HTTP 429 with Retry-After.
Pagination
page_token from _pagination.next with limit up to 100.
Provider events
Front application webhooks and rule-based webhooks for conversation events. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.

Before you build a flow

  • Conversation deletion (status deleted), contact, account, tag, draft, template, contact list and link deletion, contact merging, and removing followers, tags, handles or links are intentionally not implemented.
  • Customer-facing sends beyond the existing Reply to conversation are excluded: new outbound messages on a channel, imported or received custom messages and analytics exports. Create draft reply only saves a draft for a teammate to review and send.
  • Inbox, channel, teammate, team, shift, signature, view, rule and knowledge base configuration writes are excluded; those are workspace administration.
  • The existing Get contact accepts aliases such as alt:email:…, which places the handle in the URL path. New contact operations accept only crd_ contact IDs; use List contacts or Search conversations to resolve IDs first.
  • Search conversations places its query in the URL path (Front has no POST search). Avoid putting email addresses or other personal data in the query; filter by inbox, tag, status or contact ID where possible.
  • Activity events return at most 15 per page.
  • Contact notes have no Front ID; Nexra identifies them by author and creation time.
  • Message template updates are mapped from the documented UpdateMessageTemplate schema; the reference does not show a request example.
  • Merged conversations answer with HTTP 301. conversations.get follows one redirect on the connection's API origin and returns the conversation it was merged into (a different ID); Front does not document the Location header, so a 301 without one still fails. Other conversation operations do not follow redirects, so use the new conversation ID.
  • Replies are accepted asynchronously (HTTP 202) and return a message UID.
  • Front documents no idempotency key: replies, comments, contacts, accounts and tags are not repeated automatically when uncertain.
  • Search queries cannot contain a slash.

Developer reference

  1. Create the Front credentials described above with the narrowest permissions your flows need.
  2. In Nexra, open Connect, then Connections, then New connection, choose Front, enter its settings and credentials, and tick only the write actions you need. Connection guide
  3. Test the connection, then use its actions as flow sources and destinations. Flow guide
