Intercom with Nexra

Connected, approved, proven.

The things teams do most with Intercom, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.

Top actions

  • Create articleApproval by rule
  • Create or update companyApproval by rule
  • List adminsRead

Example flow

  1. Intercom · List adminsDone
  2. Intercom · Create articleNeeds approval
  3. Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven

Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Intercom.

What gets logged

  • Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
  • A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Intercom
  • Intercom's reply: what it created or changed
  • One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before

Try this in the sandbox

Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect a Intercom test account before you go live.

Access and limits

Authentication
Access token
Plans and access
All Intercom plans; tickets need a plan with Intercom tickets. Access tokens carry the workspace permissions chosen for the developer app (for example Read and write users, conversations and tickets).
Test environment
Free Intercom developer workspaces can be created from the Developer Hub.
Rate limits
10,000 calls per minute per app and 25,000 per workspace, distributed in 10-second windows; HTTP 429 with X-RateLimit-Reset.
Pagination
Cursor pagination with starting_after (up to 150 per page) for contacts, conversations and search; page numbers for companies, notes and articles.
Provider events
Intercom webhook topics for contacts, conversations and tickets. Flows can start the moment something happens: when a new conversation starts; when a customer replies to a conversation; when a conversation is closed; when a new user is created.

Before you build a flow

  • Pinned to Intercom API version 2.16; assignee IDs are 0 when unassigned.
  • Contact, company, conversation, ticket, tag, article and custom object deletion, contact archiving, blocking and merging, conversation merging and redaction are intentionally not implemented.
  • Outbound messages (POST /messages), news items, banners, Fin conversations and replies, audiences and subscription opt-in or opt-out changes are excluded: they send to customers or change consent.
  • Search operations accept only validated filters combined with AND (at most 15); there is no free-form query. Date filters are matched by calendar day in the workspace time zone.
  • Contact search sends email filters in the request body, never the URL. The data event summary read uses the Intercom contact ID rather than email or user ID in the query string.
  • Company contacts, company notes and Help Center collections return the first page Intercom sends; Intercom 2.16 documents no paging parameters for them.
  • Admin away status, office hours, data attribute and ticket type configuration writes are excluded as workspace administration.
  • Intercom documents no idempotency key: contact, ticket, note, reply and conversation creates are not repeated automatically when uncertain.
  • Company lists exclude companies without users and stop at 10,000 records (Intercom limit).
  • Data attribute definitions are read-only. New articles are created as drafts unless published is mapped.

Developer reference

  1. Create the Intercom credentials described above with the narrowest permissions your flows need.
  2. In Nexra, open Connect, then Connections, then New connection, choose Intercom, enter its settings and credentials, and tick only the write actions you need. Connection guide
  3. Test the connection, then use its actions as flow sources and destinations. Flow guide
