Mailchimp with Nexra

Connected, approved, proven.

The things teams do most with Mailchimp, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.

Top actions

  • Create draft campaigncampaigns.createApproval by rule
  • Upsert Customerscustomers.upsertApproval by rule
  • List campaign link clickscampaign_click_reports.listRead

Example flow

  1. Mailchimp · List campaign link clickscampaign_click_reports.listDone
  2. Mailchimp · Create draft campaigncampaigns.createMaker-checker
  3. Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven

Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Mailchimp.

What gets logged

  • Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
  • A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Mailchimp
  • Mailchimp's reply: what it created or changed
  • One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before

Try this in the sandbox

Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits

Authentication
API key (data centre must match the API address)
Plans and access
All Mailchimp Marketing plans, including Free. API keys have full account access; e-commerce data requires a connected store.
Test environment
A free Mailchimp account with a test audience and a custom API store works for testing.
Rate limits
10 simultaneous connections per user; HTTP 429 when exceeded. Calls time out after 120 seconds.
Pagination
count (up to 1000) and offset with total_items.
Provider events
Audience webhooks for subscribe, unsubscribe, profile, cleaned and campaign events. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.

Before you build a flow

  • Contact reads and email-keyed upserts with read-back verification. New contacts are transactional; existing consent is preserved. No campaign sending.
  • Campaigns are created and updated as drafts only: Nexra never sends, schedules, tests, replicates or deletes campaigns, and never enables social auto-posting or RSS campaigns.
  • Automations are read only; starting, pausing or queueing automation emails is not implemented.
  • No deletes or permanent member removals. Member search by email is not offered because it puts the address in the query string; member reads use the MD5 subscriber hash.
  • Members upsert: Mailchimp may send a confirmation email when a new member is added as pending (double opt-in).
  • Member activity uses the activity feed; event shapes vary by activity type and are returned as provided.
  • Products are written with PUT (add or update); orders must reference products already in the store. Carts and promo codes are not implemented.
  • Notes have no duplicate protection; uncertain note creation is not repeated.
