Example flow
- SmartRecruiters · List application property valuesDone
- SmartRecruiters · Create candidateNeeds approval
- Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven
Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches SmartRecruiters.
What gets logged
- Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
- A fingerprint of the exact request sent to SmartRecruiters
- SmartRecruiters's reply: what it created or changed
- One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before
Try this in the sandbox
Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits
- Authentication
- SmartRecruiters API key (X-SmartToken)
- Plans and access
- API access is available to SmartRecruiters customers; an administrator creates API keys. API keys have full access to the company's SmartRecruiters data; use OAuth custom applications for scoped access (not supported here).
- Test environment
- SmartRecruiters provides sandbox companies to customers and partners on request.
- Rate limits
- 10 requests per second for most endpoints and 8 concurrent requests (1 for GET /candidates); HTTP 429 with rate-limit headers when exceeded.
- Pagination
- Cursor pagination with pageId and nextPageId (limit up to 100).
- Provider events
- Webhook subscriptions for job, candidate and application events. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.
Before you build a flow
- Job compensation is not written, and offer properties (which include compensation) are not returned.
- Intentionally excluded: deleting jobs, candidates, job ads, positions or reviews; publishing or unpublishing job ads on job boards; creating or changing interviews and reviews; attachments, screening answers and onboarding status.
- Job ad compensation (advertised pay) is neither returned nor written, and candidate application properties of type CURRENCY or with pay, tax, bank, ID or health labels are omitted.
- Nexra looks candidates up by ID; the candidates.list q search is free text sent in the query string and should not be used with email addresses.
- The Interviews API needs an application ID (from Get application), and the Reviews API needs candidate and job IDs.
- Candidate property value writes are not implemented because the value shape varies by property type.
- Job and candidate creates have no idempotency key; uncertain writes are not repeated automatically.
Developer reference
- Create the SmartRecruiters credentials described above with the narrowest permissions your flows need.
- In Nexra, open Connect, then Connections, then New connection, choose SmartRecruiters, enter its settings and credentials, and tick only the write actions you need. Connection guide
- Test the connection, then use its actions as flow sources and destinations. Flow guide
