- Built and tested with example responses: doneEach action is built from the provider’s published API and tested against example responses, errors, rate limits and paging.
Connected, approved, proven.
The things teams do most with SurveyMonkey, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.
Top actions
- Create web link collector
collectors.createApproval by rule - Add contact to list
contact_list_members.createApproval by rule - List collector messages
collector_messages.listRead
Example flow
- SurveyMonkey · List collector messages
collector_messages.listDone - SurveyMonkey · Create web link collector
collectors.createMaker-checker - Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven
Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches SurveyMonkey.
What gets logged
- Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
- A fingerprint of the exact request sent to SurveyMonkey
- SurveyMonkey's reply: what it created or changed
- One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before
Try this in the sandbox
Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits
- Authentication
- Access token
- Plans and access
- Private apps for your own account; public apps require SurveyMonkey review. Some endpoints (responses) need a paid plan. Access tokens carry the scopes chosen for the app. Accounts in the EU or Canada data centres must use that region's origin.
- Test environment
- Draft private apps work against the developer's own account.
- Rate limits
- 120 requests per minute and from 500 requests per day per app by default (resets at midnight GMT); HTTP 429 with backoff.
- Pagination
- page and per_page; Nexra follows links.next.
- Provider events
- SurveyMonkey webhooks (response_completed, response_updated and other events). Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.
Before you build a flow
- Deleting surveys, pages, questions, collectors, responses, contacts and contact lists is intentionally not implemented.
- Only web link collectors can be created (collectors.create). Email, SMS and popup collectors, creating or editing invitation messages, adding message recipients and sending messages are not implemented because they send to recipients; collector messages, recipients and stats are read-only.
- Collector updates do not change sender, password or reopen/close status; closing a collector is possible only through its close date or response limit.
- The rollups example in SurveyMonkey's reference is empty; answered and skipped are read from the documented summary fields and the full summary is passed through unchanged.
- Survey rollups and trends: rollups are exposed per survey; page- and question-level rollups, trends and benchmarks are not exposed.
- Teams (groups) and workgroups are read-only and need a Teams or Enterprise plan; workgroup shares, member changes, organisations, SCIM users and roles are not implemented.
- Questions cannot be created or edited (question payloads are type-specific); copy a survey or template with surveys.create instead.
- Responses are read-only: creating or editing responses, contact list copy/merge and bulk contact imports are not implemented.
- Webhook creation, changes and deletion are not implemented; webhooks are read-only (webhooks.list and webhooks.get).
- Contact search is not exposed because the search text (often an email address) would travel in the URL query string.
- Survey, contact and contact list creation have no documented idempotency key; uncertain creates are not repeated automatically.
- The default daily quota (500 requests) is low; schedule large response syncs with start_modified_at and request a quota increase if needed.
- Response answers are returned as choice, row and column IDs plus text; resolve labels with surveys.get.

- In Nexra, open Connect, then Connections, then New connection, choose SurveyMonkey, enter its settings and credentials, and tick only the write actions you need. Connection guide
