Todoist
Turn requests and orders into Todoist work, and keep status in step across your tools.
29 ways to read, 18 ways to write, each write switched on by you.
Quality checks
Built and tested with example responses.
- Ready to connect: doneEvery listed action is built in.
- Built and tested with example responses: doneEach action is built from the provider’s published API and tested against example responses, errors, rate limits and paging.
Connected, approved, proven.
The things teams do most with Todoist, an example flow with a person in the loop, and what Nexra keeps as proof.

Example flow
- Todoist · List activity logDone
- Todoist · Add commentNeeds approval
- Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven
Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Todoist.
What gets logged
- Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
- A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Todoist
- Todoist's reply: what it created or changed
- One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before
Try this in the sandbox
Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits
- Authentication
- Todoist API token
- Plans and access
- All Todoist plans; some features (reminders, larger uploads) depend on plan. Access follows the user who owns the token, including shared and workspace projects.
- Test environment
- Use a separate free Todoist account for testing.
- Rate limits
- Per-user request limits (Todoist documents 1,000 partial sync requests per 15 minutes); HTTP 429 when exceeded.
- Pagination
- Cursor pagination with next_cursor and up to 200 records per page.
- Provider events
- Todoist webhooks for item, note, project and section events (OAuth apps). Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.
Before you build a flow
- The unified API v1 shows X-Request-Id only in an example and does not document it as an idempotency key; Nexra does not rely on it and does not repeat uncertain creates.
- Todoist lists have no updated-since filter; use the activity log (date_from), completed-task windows or filter queries for change detection.
- Reminders are created for the token user only; reminders for other collaborators are not set.
- Shared labels are read by name; renaming or removing a shared label rewrites every task that uses it, so those calls are not implemented.
- The unified API keeps the REST v2 operation keys and field names here; Map legacy IDs translates IDs stored from REST v2 or Sync v9 integrations.
- Comment attachments are passed as metadata; file uploads are not implemented.
- Intentionally excluded: every delete, archiving and unarchiving of projects and sections, joining projects, workspace creation and administration, workspace invitations and user role changes or removal, shared-label rename and removal, comment reactions, uploads, backups, templates import, email forwarding addresses, access-token management and billing.
