Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Trello.
What gets logged
- Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
- A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Trello
- Trello's reply: what it created or changed
- One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before
Try this in the sandbox
Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits
- Authentication
- Power-Up API key and user token
- Plans and access
- All Trello plans. Custom fields require the Custom Fields capability on the board. Requires a Power-Up API key and a user token authorised for that key.
- Test environment
- Use a free Trello workspace for testing.
- Rate limits
- 300 requests per 10 seconds per API key and 100 per 10 seconds per token; HTTP 429.
- Pagination
- Board card reads return up to 1,000 cards; board activity pages with before (oldest action ID); comments are limited to the latest 1,000 actions.
- Provider events
- Model webhooks signed with X-Trello-Webhook HMAC-SHA1. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.
Before you build a flow
- Board reads return at most 1,000 open cards in one request.
- Card creation has no idempotency key; uncertain creates are not repeated automatically.
- Search (GET /1/search) is not implemented because Trello only accepts the search text in the URL query string, where Nexra does not place mapped content.
- Attachments are links; file uploads are not implemented.
- Intentionally excluded: deleting boards, lists, cards, checklists, labels, attachments, comments and custom fields; archiving lists or all cards in a list; board membership changes and invitations; board exports. Cards can still be archived with cards.update closed=true, as before.
Developer reference
- Create the Atlassian credentials described above with the narrowest permissions your flows need.
- In Nexra, open Connect, then Connections, then New connection, choose Trello, enter its settings and credentials, and tick only the write actions you need. Connection guide
- Test the connection, then use its actions as flow sources and destinations. Flow guide
