Access and limits

Authentication: Zoho OAuth client with an offline refresh token
Plans and access: API access in Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate editions; quotes, sales orders and invoices require editions with inventory modules. Calls act as the user who authorised the OAuth client and follow that user's profile, role and field-level permissions.
Test environment: Zoho CRM sandboxes and developer edition accounts use the same API; authorise a client in the sandbox org.
Rate limits: Credit-based: a 24-hour rolling API credit allowance per edition and licence count, plus concurrency limits per org; HTTP 429 when exceeded.
Pagination: page and per_page (max 200) for the first 2,000 records, then page_token; COQL uses LIMIT offset, limit (max 2,000).
Provider events: Notification API channels and workflow webhooks for record create, edit and delete events. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.

Before you build a flow

Uses Zoho CRM API v8. Meetings use the Events module API name.
List operations need field API names (max 50); defaults cover standard fields and can be replaced, including custom fields.
Field values are returned as Zoho's typed JSON keyed by API name; use List fields for data types and picklists.
Email_Opt_Out and GDPR data-processing fields are not written from the free-form field values; Email opt out changes only through its explicit input.
Zoho has no idempotency key for creates; uncertain creates are not repeated automatically. Upserts converge on the duplicate-check fields.
COQL statements are built only from validated field names, operators and literal values (no quotes or backslashes in values).
Deletes, conversions, mass updates, bulk jobs, mass owner changes, tag assignment, email sending, roles, profiles and territory changes are not automated.
The Search Records API (GET /{module}/search with email or phone criteria in the URL) is not used; search with the COQL operation, whose statement travels in the JSON body.
Campaigns, vendors, price books, cases, solutions and purchase orders default to their documented mandatory fields when listing; pass Fields to read more.
List deleted records returns recycle-bin deletions up to 60 days old and permanent deletions up to 120 days old.
Pipelines need a Deals layout ID (from List layouts).
