Example flow
- Zoho Projects · List task commentsDone
- Zoho Projects · Add task commentNeeds approval
- Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven
Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Zoho Projects.
What gets logged
- Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
- A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Zoho Projects
- Zoho Projects's reply: what it created or changed
- One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before
Try this in the sandbox
Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect your own account when you are ready to go live.

Access and limits
- Authentication
- Zoho OAuth client (self client) with a refresh token
- Plans and access
- All Zoho Projects plans; time logs, phases budgets and custom fields depend on the edition. Calls act as the user who authorised the OAuth client and follow that user's portal profile and project roles.
- Test environment
- Use a Zoho Projects trial or free portal for testing.
- Rate limits
- 200 calls per 2-minute window per API endpoint; exceeding it blocks that endpoint for 10 minutes (Retry-After is sent).
- Pagination
- page and per_page (1-200) with page_info.has_next_page.
- Provider events
- Zoho Projects webhooks configured per portal for task, project and phase events. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.
Before you build a flow
- Uses the V3 API (/api/v3 and /api/v3.1 for phases); the legacy /restapi endpoints are not used.
- Milestones are called phases in V3; Nexra uses the V3.1 phase endpoints.
- The incremental task filter uses last_updated_time greater_than with a date (day precision), as documented.
- Time log lists require a date range of up to 6 months and a module type (task, issue or general).
- Custom fields are read and written by API name (cf_...); fetch definitions with List custom fields.
- Zoho has no idempotency key; uncertain creates are not repeated automatically.
- Issues, project groups, customers, tags and events need extra OAuth scopes (ZohoProjects.bugs, projectgroups, clients, tags, events); connections created before these operations must regenerate the refresh token to use them.
- Task and issue search use the documented name contains filter, and issue lists use the documented common status and last_updated_time filters; Zoho's portal search API is not used because it needs a separate ZohoSearch scope.
- Issue custom fields are returned and written by API name (no cf_ prefix); built-in issue keys are never overwritten by mapped custom fields.
- The running timers endpoint uses index and range rather than pages; Nexra reads one page of up to the requested limit.
- Excluded on purpose: every delete, trash and restore endpoint, user and client-user creation (Zoho sends invitations), event creation (participants are invited), followers and reminders (notifications), timer start, pause and stop, bulk endpoints, exports and portal settings.
