Example flow
- Zuora · List customer accountsDone
- Zuora · Create accountNeeds approval
- Nexra · Record the decision and result in the evidence chainProven
Example workflow. Routine runs go through on their own. Only a change your rules flag, such as one over a limit you set, waits for the right person, who sees the exact change and the rule before it reaches Zuora.
What gets logged
- Whether it ran on its own or who approved it, and under which rule
- A fingerprint of the exact request sent to Zuora
- Zuora's reply: what it created or changed
- One entry in the evidence chain, linked to the one before
Try this in the sandbox
Run the whole flow with test data in your sandbox, then connect a Zuora test account before you go live.

Access and limits
- Authentication
- Zuora OAuth client (client credentials)
- Plans and access
- Available to Zuora Billing tenants; Object Query requires a tenant on a current release. Calls run as the OAuth client's API user and follow that user's Zuora role. Multi-entity tenants must scope the OAuth client to one entity.
- Test environment
- Zuora provides API Sandbox and Developer & Central Sandbox tenants on separate hosts.
- Rate limits
- Zuora applies per-tenant request and concurrency limits and returns HTTP 429 with RateLimit headers; Nexra backs off and retries reads.
- Pagination
- Object Query pageSize (max 99) with cursor from nextPage.
- Provider events
- Zuora callout notifications for account, subscription, invoice and payment events. Flows run on demand, on a schedule, or when a scheduled check finds new or changed records.
Before you build a flow
- Lists use the Object Query API; filters are combined with AND and updateddate.GT is used for incremental reads.
- Subscription create and update always send runBilling=false and collect=false, so no invoice is generated and no payment is collected during the flow.
- Subscription update supports add, update and change rate plan actions and term settings; removing rate plans, cancel, suspend, resume, renew and delete are not automated. Repeated updates are not deduplicated because Zuora only honours Idempotency-Key on POST and PATCH.
- Account create always sends autoPay=false and never sends payment methods or credit cards.
- Invoice create always creates standalone invoices with status Draft and autoPay=false; posting, emailing, cancelling, reversing and write-offs are not automated.
- Credit memos, debit memos, memo items, payments, refunds, invoice items, taxation items, amendments, orders, order actions and bill runs are read only; payment creation, refunds, applications, transfers, memo creation, posting and collection are not automated.
- Usage records are created one at a time through the CRUD usage object. They are billable-adjacent (Zuora rates them on the next bill run), so the operation is marked billable and never retried; supply uniqueKey to let Zuora reject duplicates.
- Product rate plan charges are created and updated through the CRUD object API with the documented core fields and price tiers. Zuora's update replaces every tier, so send the full tier list. Prepaid, drawdown, commitment and dynamic-pricing charge settings are not offered.
- Usage upload (CSV import), Orders API writes (create, activate, cancel), order previews, payment methods and the Commerce catalog API are not covered. Payment-method data is outside the allowed read scope.
- Account summaries return Zuora's recent subscriptions, invoices, payments and usage for one account (Zuora caps each list).
- Zuora can return HTTP 200 with success:false; Nexra classifies these by the error code's two-digit category suffix.
- Payouts and settlements: Zuora is a billing platform and does not pay out funds, so it has no payout or settlement list. Payouts, settlement lines and processor fees come from the payment gateway (for example Stripe, Adyen or Braintree), which is connected separately. When Zuora gateway reconciliation is used, payments and refunds carry the gateway payoutId and reconciliation status.
- Processor fees: Zuora payment and refund records carry no fee amounts; read fees from the payment gateway connected separately.
- Disputes and chargebacks: Zuora's API has no dispute or chargeback object; read disputes from the payment gateway connected separately.
- Payment runs are read only; creating, updating or cancelling payment runs (which collect payments) is not automated.
